Culture

The activities of cultural institutions and establishments, and art groups of the Raion provide a high level of spiritual development and satisfy the needs of Raion population.
There are the following cultural institutions active in the Raion:

The Valkivsky Raion People's House "Iskra";
22 village Houses of Culture;
Central Raion Library;
Central Library for Children;
23 village libraries;

the Valky Arts School for Chidlren and its branches in settlement Stary Merchyk, settlement Kovyahy, and villages Snizhkiv, Oleksandrivka, and Serpneve;
the Valky State Local History Museum.
There are a total of 3,000 participants united in 150 folk art and amateur groups active in Raion cultural institutions.

Eight amateur art groups have been awarded the honorary title of "People's" ensembles.
There is a clear system of cultural, educational, and popular informational and recreational events in the Raion today.

The Valky land has always been famous for its local talents.
The Valkivsky Raion is birthplace for such prominent Ukrainian art figures as People's Artists of the Soviet Union - Mykola Manoylo and Mykola Chastiy, People's Artists of Ukraine - Valentyn Reus and Mykola Andrusenko.

The Valky land has brought up the Honored Artist of Russia, Oleksandr Katrych, soloist of the Pyatnitsky Chorus, Lyudmyla Volokh, luminary of sacred music, Borys Kozhevnikov, and many others.
