It borders on the Bohodukhivsky Raion to the north; Kolomatsky and
Krasnokutsky raions of Kharkiv Oblast and the Chutivsky Raion of Poltava
Oblast to the west; Krasnohradsky and Novovodolazky raions of Kharkiv
Oblast to the south; and on the Kharkivsky rural raion to the east.
A national highway Kyiv-Kharkiv passes for 52 km through the Raion.
There are also two Southern Railway lines in the directions of Kharkiv-Poltava
and Kharkiv-Sumy passing through the Raion.
The City of Valky is located 55 km from the regional capital Kharkiv.
In general, the Raion has a very good geographic location.
