Healthcare
Efforts of the Raion healthcare institutions are aimed
at improving accessibility and quality of medical aid provided to
the Raion population, bringing medical aid closer to the rural population
by means of gradual transfer to the principles of family medical
care, implementing and developing voluntary types of medical insurance,
strengthening and renewing the material and technological base of
healthcare institutions.
The network of Raion healthcare institutions includes:
- Valkivsky Raion Hospital;
- six branches of the Valkivsky Raion Central Hospital located in
villages;
- four outpatient clinics of family medicine;
- ten medical assistant/obstetrics stations, including four based
on family medicine principles.
To provide outpatient aid, the Raion has a polyclinic of the Valkivsky
Raion Central Hospital and outpatient clinics in villages, which
attend to an average of 590 patients a day.
The hospital in-patient department treats over 6,000 patients (16%
of Raion population) a year.
