Land and Water Resources

The total area of the Valkivsky Raion land is 101,053 hectares, including 82, 636 ha of agricultural land, 67465 ha of plough-land, 2,824 ha of orchards, and 12,697 ha of hayfields and grazing land.

Forests and wooded areas occupy 11,024 ha or 11% of the total Raion area.
Water reservoirs cover 1,220 ha.

Raion's hydrologic network is represented by the Mzha River with its tributaries Turushka, Bolhar, Kolomak, Chutivka, Orlyk and 159 ponds whose total area is abour 1,000 ha.
Monetary appraisal of agricultural land has been carried out for all farms within the Raion.

This work is also conducted in the localities.
There are 1,879.5 ha of reserve land and 2,281.64 ha of State Reserve Fund land leased to companies, organizations, and individuals.

The Valky City Council, settlement and village councils in the Raion are selling plots of land for commercial uses.
